As a data aggregator, GBIF deals with large quantities of heterogeneous data, which introduces data quality issues that users should be aware of in order to effectively use the data. In this session, we will give you an overview of some of the more common data quality issues when you perform an analysis that requires precise locations for a specific taxon within its native range.
This session will not cover the full range of potential quality issues, as it is impossible to cover the full range of uses of GBIF-mediated data. However, this session should cover some of the more frequent use cases.
