Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β - galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and gelatinase in the API 20 NE test. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, N - acetylglucosamine, and D-maltose are utilized but D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized.
