NOTES This species is known from New Zealand, Tasmania, Macquarie Island, and southern South America. Often associated with calcareous springs and seeps (Spence & Ramsay 2019). See comments under Bryum platypyllum about the confusion regarding B. uvidum. A southern hemisphere / southern amphipacific temperate species.
