diagnosis
Diagnosis and remarks. This is the type species of the genus, designated by Selys (1862). It is not a common species, known by few individuals and assessed as Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List, as its known localities are threatened by the loss of Atlantic Forest (von Ellenrieder 2020). The following character combination distinguishes this species from the remainder of Group A species: extensive dark areas on head and pterothorax (Figs. 34 a – b); upper plate small, slightly concave at its middle, bearing a posterior row of small teeth, not centered (Figs. 34 c – e); ML apex rounded (Figs. 34 c – e).
