discussion
Remarks. Species of Calyria can be distinguished from other Brazilian genera by the indistinct fore wing post costal area, the five hind wing apical cells, and the ocelli are well separated from the base of the head (Distant 1906). The flattened ventrolateral postclypeus without an obvious apical extension and the lateral pronotal surfaces that are parallel for most of their length are additional diagnostic structures.
distribution
Distribution. The genus is found over much of Central and South America with species of the genus being reported from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela (Metcalf 1963; Maes et al. 2012; Sanborn 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019 a, 2020 a, 2020 b; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Sanborn & Heath 2014) with recent range extensions to include Ecuador (Sanborn 2020 c) and Trinidad (Sanborn 2020 d).
