Type data: Lectotype female (ZMUC, examined). Subsequent designation: Moure (1960). Type locality: “ America meridionalis ” (according to Moure (1960), probably from Guiana).

Type data: This species was described based on an undetermined number of male specimens collected in Tefé and Tapajós, northern Brazil. Two specimens of the primary type series were found at NHMUK. The one in better condition is designated the lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Type H. T. \ B. M. Type HYM 17 B. 914 \ Braz Tapajós \ Centris personata Type Smith \ Lectotype Centris personata Smith, 1874 desig. F. Vivallo 2011 (NHMUK). Paralectotype male with the following data label: Brazil \ Paralectotype Centris personata Smith, 1874 desig. F. Vivallo 2011 (NHMUK). The currently status and depository of the specimen (s) from Tefé is unknown. The lectotype is in good condition and is coded NHMUK 010812608 in the NHMUK data portal. Type locality: Brazil: Pará state: Tapajós. Comments: Taxonomic decision for synonymy: Moure (1960). This species was correctly interpreted by Silveira et al. (2002) and Moure et al. (2007).
