Positive reactions are obtained for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis and β-galactosidase in API 20 NE, and negative reactions are obtained for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase. Dglucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, Dmannitol, N acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are utilized.
