diagnosis
Diagnosis. Anarthrurid with normal pleon. Labrum laterally compressed. Mandible with acuminate molar process. Maxillule endite with five unequal terminal setae. Maxilliped endite conical, with finely setose margin, without distal setae; palp article 3 with three inner setae. Cheliped propodus with lateral fold; fixed finger with one ventral seta. Pereopods 1 – 3 coxa with seta. Carpus of pereopods 4 – 6 with three complex spiniform setae and one thin seta. Pleopods present. Uropod exopod with three long distal setae.
discussion
Remarks. It is tempting to include this taxon with Anisopechys but the different habitus, as well as the characters given under the ‘ Remarks’ on the previous genus, support its separate identity from that genus, Siphonolabrum and Anarthruropsis.
etymology
Etymology. Genus group name Anarthrura with prefix from Greek syn meaning ‘ with’ or ‘ together’.
