Happywhale

Description

Happywhale is a research collaboration and citizen science web platform gathering marine mammal encounter data with a specific focus on individual photo-ID. We have developed an AI based image recognition algorithm for humpback whale fluke IDs and, through an open access system of image submission, identification and notification of results, have individually identified a large percentage of the individual humpback whales of the world.
