Endemia

Description

Endemia is a local NGO which has been working since 2001 on the promotion of the native neo-caledonian flora and fauna through the participative website www.endemia.nc. It has become a reference in terms of knowledge sharing of biodiversity. It is widely used and fed by amateurs, scientists and institutions. The online flora compiles more especially 35,000 photos which cover almost 70% of the native flora (3,400 taxa of which 76% are endemic). Endemia hosts the Red List Authority for plants of New Caledonia which objective is to assess the whole flora by 2020.
