Biological collections related to research, teaching and community program, comprised by Herbário da Universidade Estadual de Londrina and Museu de Zoologia, both founded in 1982, are located in Londrina (Paraná, Brazil). The Herbarium includes a Plant Collection composed predominantly by Angiosperms and the Phycological Collection which encompasses liquid samples and permanent slides with different organisms commonly treated as microalgae. The collection of Museum has specimens of different taxonomic groups, such as Crustacea, fishes, reptiles, amphibia, aves, and mammals. The material deposited in the biological collections from Universidade Estadual de Londrina are mainly from Brazil.
