Description

IH.SM was created in 1992. Its mission: Training and Research in the field of marine sciences, Fisheries and Aquaculture, marine and coastal environment. The IH.SM is primarily responsible for the Training of Senior Technicians - fisheries Engineers scientists and oceanographer biologists (Bachelor, Masters and PhD).Oceanography remains one of the specializations taught at the Institute. Since 2004, like most academic institutions in Madagascar, the IH.SM gradually came into the European system of higher education by adopting the architecture (Bachelor-Masters-Doctorat-). Four options are available in Master 2: (1) Fisheries, (2) Aquaculture, (3) Marine Biodiversity - Marine Protected Areas, and (4) Marine pollution - Environmental Engineering.
