Description

Since 2010 the UfU e. V. is conducting projects in order to support the local authorities in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany to implement an effective management of alien invasive plants. The projects are conducted by the coordination centre for alien invasive plants in protected areas of Saxony-Anhalt at UfU e. V., Germany (KORINA). One of the main tasks of KORINA is the collection of information about the occurrences of invasive and potentially invasive nonnative plants. KORINA is operating an online database where sightings of 120 alien invasive plants species can be recorded and to which datasets pruduced by other agencies are added regularly. At the website www.korina.info the current knowledge of the distribution of this 120 plant species is shown. By publishing the datasets recorded by KORINA/UfU we hope to contribute to the international effort to manage the spread of alien invaive plants.
