Description
Kanahau is a conservation research facility that was started to promote research into the flora and fauna of Utila. Our work includes cataloging species diversity across all taxa, as well as specific research projects including the monitoring the population of the Ctenosaura bakeri (Utila's critically endangered endemic iguana), studying the populations of endemic reptiles (e.g. Anoles; Norops utilensis and Norops bicaorum; Geckos, Phyllodactylus palmeus and Sphaerodactylus poindexterii), monitoring the bat species and investigating the insect diversity of this island. We seek to promote conservation of threatened species.Contacts
