Sociedad(e) Ibérica de Micología-Iberian Mycological Society

GBIF publisher since
28 March 2019

Description

The Iberian Mycological Society aims at coordinating mycologists from the Iberian Peninsula, the Canary Islands, the Macaronesian Islands and the Balearic Islands. Despite covering a territory in which many mycologists do fieldwork, huge amounts of information are not shared and knowledge of most species in the territory is vague and have sparse occurrences. Thus, the primary goal of the Iberian Mycological Society is publish datasets provided by local mycologists that would otherwise remain unavailable. The Iberian Mycological Society does not own a herbarium, but many of the records provided are supported by voucher specimens in private or public herbaria in Index Herbariorum
