Vodlozersky National Park

Description

Vodlozersky National Park, formed in 1991 on the territories of two Russian regions (the Republic of Karelia and the Arkhangelsk Region) with the aim of creating a unique natural complex of the lake. Vodlozero, p. Ileksa and historical and cultural heritage. The area of the Karelian part of the park is 1282 km2, the territory in the Arkhangelsk region is 3442 km2 (total area is 4724 km2). The national park is located between 62.1 and 63.5 degrees east longitude. Current species counts: • Fungi (aphyllophoroid, agaricales, ascomycetes) – 244 • Lichens – 402 • Mosses – 207 • Vascular plants – 533 • Sponges – 1 • Rotifers – 10 • Annelids – 8 • Molluscs – 22 • Crustaceans – 25 • Arachnids – 96 • Insects – 938 • Fish and Lampreys – 24 • Amphibians – 3 • Reptiles - 2 • Birds – 211 • Mammals – 48
