Sabuli Wildlife Conservancy (SWC) is a Community Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2018 that was founded to mitigate and minimize the occurrences of human-wildlife conflict by providing critical conservation programming in conjunction with the provision of essential humanitarian, development and peacebuilding services. Sabuli’s vision is of a vibrant and prosperous relationship between the people of Sabuli and the many species of flora and fauna that populate the Sabuli Wildlife Conservancy. Sabuli envisions a relationship that is self-reinforcing, sustainable, and mutually beneficial. Over its two years of operation, SWC has grown from grassroots discussions on the viability of livelihoods and human-wildlife relations in the context of deepening climate crisis to a legally recognized CBO and wildlife conservancy, in accordance to Kenyan law. In pursuance of community-based conservation, SWC has undertaken activities to promote principles of conservation and of natural resource management with the communities that comprise SWC, and, as a result, has formed a strong ethic of conservation and sustainability among the stakeholders of the conservancy.
