Sabuli Wildlife Conservancy (SWC) is a Community Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2018 that was founded to mitigate and minimize the occurrences of human-wildlife conflict by providing critical conservation programming in conjunction with the provision of essential humanitarian, development and peacebuilding services. Sabuli’s vision is of a vibrant and prosperous relationship between the people of Sabuli and the many species of flora and fauna that populate the Sabuli Wildlife Conservancy. Sabuli envisions a relationship that is self-reinforcing, sustainable, and mutually beneficial. Over its two years of operation, SWC has grown from grassroots discussions on the viability of livelihoods and human-wildlife relations in the context of deepening climate crisis to a legally recognized CBO and wildlife conservancy, in accordance to Kenyan law. In pursuance of community-based conservation, SWC has undertaken activities to promote principles of conservation and of natural resource management with the communities that comprise SWC, and, as a result, has formed a strong ethic of conservation and sustainability among the stakeholders of the conservancy. SWC has taken concrete steps to ensuring the security of the conservation and is engaging in data collection processes to monitor populations of fauna living on conservancy lands to inform conservation interventions, support the strengthening of national biodiversity databases, and to
