Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria

GBIF publisher since
14 March 2011

Description

The Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria represents all herbaria in the U.S. states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. An estimated 3.3 million specimens of vascular plants, bryophytes, liverworts, hornworts, algae, lichens, and fungi are housed in these collections. The Consortium supports digitization efforts, provides assistance to individual herbaria, and operates an online access point for the region's collections. The Consortium was formed in 2007 and is managed by staff at the University of Washington Herbarium with the support of other regional herbaria.
