Austin Peay State University Natural History Collections

Description

The Austin Peay State University Natural History Collections are housed in the Sundquist Science Complex in the Department of Biology and include the Herbarium (APSC; established 1942) and David Snyder Museum of Zoology (APSU; established 1963), representing significant collections of the Mid-South region. Collections include over 150,000 herbarium and vertebrate specimens, including the largest collection of amphibians and reptiles, second largest herbarium, and the fastest growing fish collection in Tennessee, and regionally important mammal and bird collections. These valuable specimen libraries are used in research, teaching, and outreach activities.
