Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve

Description

The reserve "Bryansk forest" was created on July 14, 1987 in the territory of Trubchevsky and Suzemsky districts of the Bryansk region, between the Desna and Nerussy rivers. Our reserve preserves part large forest, which is called "Bryansk forest". The Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve (in Russian: Zapovednik «Bryansky Les») is a federal-level state biosphere preserve which aims to conserve, study, and share with the public the natural values of the Bryansk Forest. The reserve is charged with preserving and monitoring natural processes and phenomena, the genetic diversity of the plant and animal world, indicator plant and animal species, and typical and unique ecosystems. The Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resrouces and Ecology of the Russian Federation. Terrestrial and aquatic resources, mineral resources, and the plant and animal communities found in the Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve are protected in accordance with Russian federal legislation. Resource exploitation is prohibited here. Land within the borders of the preserve, as well as buildings, facilities, and other structures are not subject to privatization.
