Description

The University Of Hargeisa is the only chartered public University in the Republic Of Somaliland. It is the leading higher education institution in the country and is committed to providing a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. The university's goal to give all graduates the skills needed for success in their future careers and to contribute wider processes of educational and professional development in Somaliland. The Biodiversity Museum was started in 2015 as the first step in developing a biodiversity education program. The museum is (2018) still in its infancy but an integral part of its mission is to share its records. Those from the herbarium can also be viewed via OpenHerbarium.org, and those from the zoological collections via OpenZooMuseum.org., two networks powered by Symbiota.
