Freshwater Ecology, Hydrology and Management (F.E.H.M.) Research Group - Universitat de Barcelona

GBIF publisher since
9 February 2017

Description

The Freshwater Ecology and Management Group (F.E.M.) is specialized in the study of inland aquatic ecosystems (rivers, lakes, wetlands, reservoirs...), and in the application of these studies in their conservation and management. Two of the main lines of action are the study of biodiversity and the use of aquatic macroinvertebrates as bioindicators of ecological status. The group was born in 1978 with the first studies that Dr. Narcís Prat directed in the rivers of Andorra. In 2005, the research group was recognized by the Generalitat of Catalonia with its current name.
