USPU was founded in 1930. This is one of the oldest universities in the Urals. Ural State Pedagogical University is one of the leading pedagogical universities of Russia, the best pedagogical university of the Ural Federal District. Ural State Pedagogical University - the main supplier of teaching staff for the Sverdlovsk region, and for certain teaching specialties - for the Ural region. Over its long history, USPU has trained over 100 thousand highly qualified specialists. Among its graduates and today's students are the heroes of Russia, winners of the annual Russian and regional competitions “Teacher of the Year”, public figures, international masters of sports, honored masters of sports, world and European champions, the Olympic Games, soloists of leading Russian theaters, leaders and active figures of public organizations and associations. The Ural State Pedagogical University is a center of science, education and culture that conducts fundamental and applied research in a wide range of psychological, pedagogical, humanitarian, natural sciences (geographical, biological, environmental, chemical) areas of science. Education at the university is carried out at three levels of higher education (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate) and additional education. USPU carries out multifaceted scientific and educational cooperation in organizing academic exchanges, conducting joint research and publishing their results, sharing experience in organizing the educational process, writing and publishing teaching aids, organizing and participating in international conferences, seminars, and exhibitions. The mission of the Ural State Pedagogical University is to educate and develop a socially and professionally competent person, to train creatively-minded specialists who can replenish and increase the intellectual potential of Russia based on the optimal combination of fundamental university education and practice-oriented profile training, taking into account the requirements of the time. The educational process, research and innovation, educational work is provided at Ural State Pedagogical University by a team of highly qualified teachers. The university employs over 60 doctors and professors, more than 300 candidates of sciences and associate professors, many of them full members and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the International Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, the Academy of Informatization of Education, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the International Academy of Sciences of Pedagogical Education, New York Academy of Sciences, Academy of Military Historical Sciences, Russian Environmental Academy, Ural Branch of the Russian Society of Psycholinguals istov and others. At the university, 15 scientific schools have developed and are successfully functioning, which have gained not only Russian, but also world-class fame. Schools of A. S. Belkin, E. V. Korotaeva, N. G. Tagiltseva, P. S. Popel, L. Ya. Rubina, T. N. Shamalo, A. P. Chudinova and others enjoy great authority in the scientific community. An integral part of the training of specialists at the university is student research work. Every year, students of Ural State Pedagogical University become winners and prize-winners of scientific conferences, olympiads and contests of international, all-Russian and regional levels. More than 50 university students are scholarship holders of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as the Academic Council of Ural State Pedagogical University. The Ural State Pedagogical University is implementing a targeted university program "Preparing Students for Innovation Activities"; The university prepares workers and heads of educational institutions of the Sverdlovsk region for the implementation of innovative technologies.
