Description

The Laboratory of Systematic Botany and Floristics is located at the Department of Environmental Biology, Sapienza University of Rome. Research activities mainly deal with the systematics, phytogeography, and ecology of the Italian vascular flora. Plant biodiversity data are continuously recorded and inventoried by means of field surveys and of the construction of floristic databases. Special focuses are: • Italian endemic, threatened, and alien species; • The segetal and woody flora of Italy; • The flora of Latium region; • The biosystematics of Italian Plumbaginaceae (genera Limonium and Armeria) taxa; • Freshwater macrophytes. The Lab constantly collaborates with the Museo Erbario of Sapienza University.
