The Institute and Museum of Natural Sciences is a research and extension unit, administratively and financially dependent on the Faculty of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of the National University of San Juan, whose main goals are:* Develop scientific research in the field of Natural Sciences* Transfer the achievement of investigations to interested sectors* Disseminate scientific knowledge related to natural sciences* Exhibit museum objects from thematic collections* Hold and update different biological collections such as the provincial herbarium, paleobotany collection, paleovertebrate collection, invertebrate collection.
