Description

This program supports the letter and spirit of the Environment Sector Goal 7 of the FSM SDP. Goal 7 seeks to "establish effective bio-security (border control, quarantine and eradication) programs to effectively protect the FSM's biodiversity of alien invasive species. In addition, this program supports Kosrae SDP Environment Sector Goal 4: Introduction and spread of invasive species prevented and minimized; (SDP Agriculture Matrix Activity:SG1:(i) properly resourced quarantine service;SG2:(i) Encourage the use of technologies that minimize the use of agriculture chemicals, provide training in organic farming, organic certification and implement public awareness campaign.
