Building on the work of a 2015 task group on fitness for use in agrobiodiversity, this Iberian project has led to the design of a training course on using agrobiodiversity information available through GBIF and other relevant data sources.
The team started by conducting a needs assessment targeting the agriculture and forestry stakeholder communities of Portugal and Spain. The results have guided the design of a regional training workshop developed in collaboration with the College Food, Farming and Forestry (F3) of the University of Lisbon.
The workshop included learning activities and outreach materials that support training objectives for the agrobiodiversity community while gaining a better understanding of how current biodiversity information tools serve this audience.
