The Philippine Clearing-House Mechanism of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) serves as the Philippine Biodiversity Information Facility (PhilBIF). It operates through BIOWEB – a national data-sharing network of 31 institutional partners from academia, conservation and research organizations, and museums, which generate and hold biodiversity data.

In collaboration with ACB and the Belgian Biodiversity Platform, this project aims at strengthening PhilBIF by enhancing the capacities of BIOWEB partners in the publishing of biodiversity information according to GBIF standards. Selected BIOWEB partners and informatics personnel of the Biodiversity Management Bureau of the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources will participate in a training of trainers workshop on GBIF data standards, the use of the GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) and in publishing data papers.
