The GBIF Secretariat invites proposals from graduate students for the 2015 Young Researchers Award. This prize intends to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics by graduate students.
This year, GBIF will present two awards of €4,000 each to one master’s student and one doctoral student. Students must apply through and be nominated by a Head of Delegation (HoD) of a GBIF Participant country (see the complete list of GBIF Participants).
Some national delegations will make separate announcements about where and when students should submit their research proposals to the Heads of Delegation so that nominations may be reviewed and prioritized at the national level. Potential nominees should consult the news streams of their national GBIF nodes, available via the News tab of the GBIF country pages. Heads of Delegation may then submit a maximum of two proposals to the GBIF Secretariat by 3 March 2015.
