The GBIF Secretariat, located in Copenhagen, is looking for a Data Analyst to work in a small team responsible for GBIF data content and quality, including data publisher and user support around the GBIF data index and portal (GBIF.org). The post is a full-time position located in Copenhagen, and the selected candidate is expected to live in Denmark. For internationally recruited staff, a relocation package will be available.

Main tasks involve analysing and documenting aspects of data quality in the GBIF data index, while supporting data publishers with both technical and data content-related questions. The hired candidate will also be tasked with documenting and communicating approaches to improving data quality, and addressing issues diagnosed within data content.

The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of relational databases, R or Phython, XML and JSON webservices, and has experience working with data quality in large data bases. This post is a great opportunity for a candidate who has a good eye for detail, is proactive in fixing issues, and takes enjoyment in seeing things improve.
