SEINet Portal Network

The SEINet Portal Network supports more than a dozen regional web portals distributed across North America (http://symbiota.org/seinet/), such as the Southeast Regional Network of Expertise and Collections (SERNEC; https://sernecportal.org/), the Consortium of Southern Rocky Mountain Herbaria (https://www.soroherbaria.org/), the Consortium of Midwest Herbaria (https://midwestherbaria.org/), and more. Each regional portal accesses a shared data point to publish botanical data that is particularly relevant to the user groups within the region. Together, these portals contain over 21 million occurrences and 8.1 million images associated with herbarium specimens. In addition, the network provides collection management services to more than 270 herbaria. Assisting collections in publishing this data out to the global research community is considered one of the central missions of the network.
