Connecting Collections workshop series: September 2022
Latin American and Caribbean Natural Science Collections: Active, visible and well-connected
Join us in celebrating the wealth and diversity of Latin American and Caribbean natural history collections and their contributions to societies’ challenges and research needs, discuss future opportunities, and connect with collection networks in the region.
As part of the GBIF-funded project Promoting the visibility of scientific collections in Latin America and the Caribbean by strengthening their presence in GRSciColl, we are hosting a series of online workshops in September that will combine presentations by members of the regional collections community with discussions among all participants in breakout rooms.
The four workshop sessions will focus on:
- Natural science collections and existing networks in the region
- Advanced uses and novel applications of scientific collections and their data
- The GBIF Registry of Scientific Collections as powerful backbone
- Developing use cases and collaborations that build on GRSCiColl and collections’ data
The detailed workshop program can be found at here. The workshop will be conducted in English and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation.
Its sessions are scheduled on four successive Mondays—5, 12, 19 and 26 September 2022—at 19 UTC. Find your local time.
The workshop sessions are free and accessible worldwide, either by using the video conferencing application Zoom or accessing the sessions from your computer’s internet browser.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you at the workshop and to your participation in the workshop’s discussions and exchanges.
