The aim of this event is to expose the map of the natural vegetation of some countries in America and Europe, taking into account the status of the inventory and its hierarchical classification, physiognomy and composition; considering from biomes and formations, through dominance, to plant communities. Thus, we could advance in the elaboration of the national map of natural vegetation and its application to national policies. The conferences will be pre-recorded: first we are going to have the presentation panel and then a session of questions and answers by the specialists. At the symposium round table attendees could ask their questions.
Jaime Bernal-Hadad, from the Biodiversity Ecology group of the Development and Environment Foundation (FUNDA) – Colombia, will make the presentation:"Contents of the map of natural vegetation, institutionality and policies". This will be an opportunity to show the advances in the BID Project, Species of plant communities of the dry forest in the tropical Caribbean of Colombia BID-CA2020-024-INS, focusing on how the vegetation data and plant communities (with a phytosociology approach), can be structured and published as sampling event datasets in the GBIF network.
