Following a set of concluding meetings in each of the ACP regions, this meeting reflects on the BID programme’s first phase and, with a proposed extension to 2023 and top-up funding from the EU, designs its next one.
Over the two-day programme, meeting participants:
- Discussed the overall impacts of BID’s first phase and the regional priorities aimed at continuing demand-driven data mobilization efforts
- Engaged with development cooperation funders, policymakers and researchers in applying the BID approach within other programmes and regions where enhanced capacity in biodiversity data management can support sustainable development objectives
- Mapped out approaches for expanding investment in capacity for biodiversity data mobilization and use for decision-making
