Following a set of concluding meetings in each of the ACP regions, this meeting reflects on the BID programme’s first phase and, with a proposed extension to 2023 and top-up funding from the EU, designs its next one.

Over the two-day programme, meeting participants:

  1. Discussed the overall impacts of BID’s first phase and the regional priorities aimed at continuing demand-driven data mobilization efforts
  2. Engaged with development cooperation funders, policymakers and researchers in applying the BID approach within other programmes and regions where enhanced capacity in biodiversity data management can support sustainable development objectives
  3. Mapped out approaches for expanding investment in capacity for biodiversity data mobilization and use for decision-making
