The GBIF Africa Regional Support Team will organize a virtual training workshop on biodiversity data mobilization in English to strengthen the capacity of institutions in Africa to mobilize, manage, and publish biodiversity data through GBIF.
The workshop is based on the GBIF Biodiversity Data Mobilization curriculum and will guide participants through key steps of the data mobilization workflow, including data capture, data management and data publishing.
The training will combine self-paced learning, live virtual sessions and practical assignments, leading to certification.
Workshop structure:
• Preparatory self-study: mid-June 2026
• Virtual sessions: 29 June – 3 July 2026 (08:00–11:00 UTC)
• Certification exercises: early–mid July 2026
Due to limited capacity, a maximum of 30 participants will be selected.
