Knowledge dissemination workshop

This two-day knowledge dissemination workshop on capacity enhancement in biodiversity data mobilization was organized by the Ghana Node (GhaBIF) of GBIF. It was held as a part of a BID project, Increasing data-mobilization capacity to conserve threatened medicinal plants in Ghana.

The 15 participants came from 12 different biodiversity data-holding institutions in Ghana. Participants were trained in data digitalization of fields, herbarium and museum records. They were taught various types of data, data cleaning, data management priniciples, tools and the process of publishing data on the IPT (Integrated Publishing Toolkit) of GBIF. The workshop included practical sessions. The intention was for the participants to use the new aquired skill to mobilize data held in their respective institutions.
