Latin American Workshop on Biodiversity e-Learning Platforms

Publishing biodiversity data online is a invaluable element for scientific research, the promotion of biological conservation and sustainable development. Very specific and highly demanded training is needed to build and exploit such a resource. In this context, using distant learning platforms to amplify and speed up capacity building in this field is a must.
The objective of this workshop is to capacitate specialists to manage these training platforms within the realm of biodiversity informatics in Latin America and aligned with GBIF goals. After the workshop, participants will also be able to support the organisation of training courses on biodiversity informatics and bioinformatics, and also teachers in their role when using these platforms.
