Butterflies: Nature’s silent messengers

The Natural History Museum of Denmark—GBIF's host institutio—will highlight the fragile beauty and exciting biology of the butterflies to engage the public in a number of important topics. Though butterflies are colorful, alluring creatures, there's a dark side behind their poetic beauty. In many places in the world, butterflies are declining dramatically, and they stand as a tangible expression of the extensive biodiversity crisis in which the world is located.
