GBIF Estonia seminar: Global and national biodiversity data portals

Add to calendar
16 May 2018
10:00 - 13:00 CEST

This seminar, hosted by the Estonian research infrastructure Natural history archives and information network (NATARC) and the Estonian Academy of Sciences, serves as the conclusion of the 10th GBIF European Nodes meeting in Tallinn.

The launch of the renewed global GBIF portal in 2017 and ongoing active development of national GBIF portals raise many important issues. Are national portals acting as only mirrors for GBIF’s central database, or do they also provide specific and unique data services? If yes, what are these services and data? Will national and global GBIF portals implement the same software in the future? Is it necessary to have a similar design in national and global portals?
