This virtual workshop will convene a broad stakeholder group to flesh out a shared vision, road map and set of priorities for developing the scope, content and services included in a catalogue of the world's natural history collections.

The workshop consists of two parts:

  • Two two-hour preparatory webinars in which participants will discuss a draft ideas paper to be released around 24 February. Note that these sessions are scheduled nine time zones apart (on successive days) to support wider global participation.
  • An open, facilitated online consultation running between 17-29 April 2020

"Advancing the Catalogue of the World's Natural History Collections" is the first of three that GBIF will lead as part of the European Commission-funded SYNTHESYS+ project.

People interested in participating can register for the preparatory webinars now:

Session #1: Thursday, 12 March 2020, 06:00:00 UTC (GMT)
Session #2: Friday, 13 March 2020, 15:00:00 UTC (GMT)
