As part of the EU-funded BID project, BryoTan: BRYOphytes of Parc Botanique et Zoologique de Tsimbazaza, ANtananarivo herbarium, this workshop was organised in Paris with two purposes; to gain practical insight into managing and curating bryophytes stored in Madagascan collections and to develop the plan of action for the next stages of the BID project.
The BryoTan team were hosted by the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris from the 15th-22nd of January 2018. Actions covered during the week-long workshop included:
- Training on bryophyte preparation and numerisation
- Preparation of the PBZT herbarium collection (Antananarivo, Madagascar)
- Identification tool orientation and calibration (Acquisition of Motic Trinocular B1 microscope)
- Numerisation plan of bryophyte images
