The Asia nodes meeting will aim to:

  • Strengthen the Asia GBIF community
  • Provide a forum for GBIF nodes in Asia and the GBIF Secretariat to share latest updates and best practices
  • Explore opportunities for synergies between existing and/or upcoming related regional initiatives and the GBIF network, e.g., through support of, or participation in any related training efforts; encouraging data sharing through other related regional programmes; identifying possible data flows that could encourage use of the data being mobilized through GBIF, etc.
  • Showcase the relevance of GBIF data across a broad range of use cases.

Audience:

This event will be a hybrid event organized for representatives of:
• GBIF nodes in Asia
• Relevant regional initiatives and regional networks
• Biodiversity data holders and users
