As part of the implementation for the project entitled "Establishment of a mechanism for the capitalization and efficient management of plant biodiversity data in Côte d'Ivoire", this workshop was held to provide an update of bio-floristic data collection methods to data users with a broader goal to harmonize collection practices. The training workshop was aimed at relevant partners to the project who wish to strengthen their capacity of the technical and research structures to capitalize bio-floristic data.
Workshop topics covered:
- Information needed to collect bio-floristic data at harvest sites
- Digitisation of herbarium types
- Global and national biodiversity trends
During the workshop, speakers provided examples of the data collection methods for herbariums. This section focused on the practical elements of the process, notably the tools required for data collection. The presentation also covered sampling techniques, descriptions of global and national biodiversity trends, and methods for processing collected data.
