This workshop focused on training project partners in biodiversity data management to aid decision-making processes in Benin. Workshop content included both presentations and practical exercises to demonstrate and assist participants knowledge of ecological niche modelling. The objectives for the project were explained to invited partners to highlight how better use of biological data can contribute to conservation management and related decision-making processes.
The workshop covered presentations and activities including:
- Introduction to ecological niches modelling
- Data downloading and data cleaning
- Environmental layers formatting
- Ecological niche modelling (MaxEnt)
A total of 19 participants involved in the project attended, including a large number of students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Abomey-Calavi.
