The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to modern methods for publishing and analyzing vegetation-plot data, using open-source data and software.
Course overview
- Introduction to the Czech Vegetation Database, an example of a fully open vegetation database (M. Chytrý)
- Vegetation data manipulation and processing in R: export of Turboveg databases to R, basic data handling, community weighted means, indicator values, and exports to other formats (I. Axmanová)
- Stratified resampling of vegetation-plot databases in R (M. Večeřa and J. Divíšek)
- Publishing vegetation data on GBIF (S. Palpurina and M. Večeřa)
Participants are expected to bring laptops with R and RStudio installed. A basic knowledge of R is expected.

Capacity: 20 participants. The course is free, but places are limited. Therefore, registration is required. Registrations close 31 July 2026.
