This event is for GBIF heads of delegation, additional delegates and agency staff responsible for establishing and maintaining GBIF participation in the Central Asia subregion.
Meeting participants will discuss national GBIF involvement in both upcoming COP-17s held by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) (Ulaanbataar, Mongolia, 17-28 August) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) (Yerevan, Armenia, 19-30 October), while seeking identify common priorities and synergies, collaborations and funding opportunities to support data-intensive biodiversity work in the region.

- Coordinated, GBIF-informed positions on multilateral environmental agreements and associated international funding opportunities
