This workshop is organised and driven by the BID project Rescuing the knowledge base of Venezuela’s marine biodiversity.
Participants will be introduced to the concept of biodiversity open data use and mobilization through GBIF and OBIS networks, the use of biodiversity standards with emphasis on the Darwin Core standard and the process of publishing biodiversity data within the BID GBIF-Caribe Sur Project, understanding the process for publishing datasets to GBIF-OBIS networks and learn about the people, institutions, and online resources that can help data providers to publish datasets in OBIS-GBIF.
Participants will be encouraged to seek further capacitation and certification through GBIFs training course in data mobilization.
