The dataset contains the results of the records of 545 nests of the 22 species of Falconiformes: Honey Buzzard Pernis apivorus, Black Kite Milvus migrans, Hen Harrier Circus cyaneus, Pallid Harrier Circus macrourus, Montagu`s Harrier Circus pygargus, Marsh Harrier Circus aeruginosus, Goshawk Accipiter gentilis, Sparrowhawk Accipiter nisus, Long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus, Buzzard Buteo buteo, Short-toed Eagle Circaetus gallicus, Booted Eagle Hieraaetus pennatus, Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga, Lesser Spotted Eagle Aquila pomarina, Imperial Eagle Aquila heliaca, Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos, Black Vulture Aegypius monachus, Saker Falco cherrug, Peregrine Falco peregrinus, Hobby Falco subbuteo, Red-footed Falcon Falco vespertinus, Kestrel Falco tinnunculus in the territory of mainly the western part of Ukraine, partly in other regions, namely: Volyn, Lviv, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Poltava, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Khmel'nyts'kyi, Zakarpattia, Ternopil, Kirovohrad, Autonomous Republic Crimea, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, administrative regions. 50% of the records are located in Volyn and Lviv regions (271 records).

s Harrier Circus pygargus, Marsh Harrier Circus aeruginosus, Goshawk Accipiter gentilis, Sparrowhawk Accipiter nisus, Long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus, Buzzard Buteo buteo, Short-toed Eagle Circaetus gallicus, Booted Eagle Hieraaetus pennatus, Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga, Lesser Spotted Eagle Aquila pomarina, Imperial Eagle Aquila heliaca, Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos, Black Vulture Aegypius monachus, Saker Falco cherrug, Peregrine Falco peregrinus, Hobby Falco subbuteo, Red-footed Falcon Falco vespertinus, Kestrel Falco tinnunculus nests' registrations within the territory of mainly western Ukraine for the period starting from 1977 to 2015. Sampling

The collection of materials for the bank of bird nests of Ukraine took place according to the methods and on the basis of the questionnaires developed by the Western Ukrainian Ornithological Society. The search for nests was carried out both during special research and for accidental finds. A separate questionnaire was filled out for each registered nest, which indicated the species, date and place of discovery, describes the biotope and exact location of the nest, its dimensions and nesting material, the dimensions and weight of eggs or chicks (if such measurements were taken). Such a questionnaire is a reliable documented fact of the nesting of a species in a certain area. The nomenclature follows the Catalog of Life.

Quality Control

The authors of the dataset are fully responsible for the quality of the published data (species identification, georeferencing, other provided data).

Identification and confirming of species.
Georeferencing.
Adding all the collected information to one unified database.
Organizing of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
