Ichthyofauna of the Desna River and its tributaries

Study Extent

The dataset is a result of own observations of the author. These observations were provided and organized in a form of dataset as a product of winning project of UNCG grant for supporting of investigation of Desna River biodiversity. Some of the materials were presented by colleagues: Tsyba A. A., Siroid I., Zavadsky P.

Sampling

The research was conducted from 2009 to 2021. The section of the Desna River starting from the village of Gremyach to its confluence with the Dnieper River near the village of Oseshchyna is the main area of investigations. The main tributaries: Seym, Snov, Ubid, Oster and Sudost rivers, - as well as the floodplain Desna water bodies (Chernihiv and Kyiv regions) were studied.

Quality Control

The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the published dataset.

Method steps

1. When the locality of the species was detected, the point was geolocated using a GPS navigator.
2. Cheking of the data accuracy.

Species of the following families are presented within the dataset: Cyprinidae, Cobitidae, Nemacheilidae, Percidae, Gobiidae, Siluridae, Gadidae, Odontobutidae.
